Judd’s Hill Winery

We stopped here because of all the good Yelp reviews. We did have our 3 yr old with us but that didn’t stop us from having a good time. I normally wouldn’t recommend people taking their kids to wineries, but our kid is really well behaved and didn’t disappoint as he kept himself occupied during our tasting with some games. This winery isn’t exactly kid-friendly, but they didn’t mind that we had the little guy in tow.

The wines were pretty good. My favorite was their 2010 zinfandel and 2007 Kairos cab. Our tasting was a personalized experience — just the two of us with one of their reps in an outdoor patio area under umbrellas. It was a small, intimate area and their rep (the older lady with white hair) was very knowledgeable. This experience is best for people who want to talk a lot of wine and/or people who don’t know much about wine, as they give you a lot of background info about winemaking that many might already know.

They will try to get you to join their wine club, like most wineries, but the upsell isn’t aggressive. Our tasting was $10 for five wines and she was quite generous with the pours.
