LAS VEGAS – (March 30, 2012) – Five-time James Beard Foundation semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurateur, Sam Fox, is set to open his first restaurant concept in Las Vegas. The edgy gastropub, Culinary Dropout, will open this summer at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Conveniently located near the casino floor and adjacent to the pool, the new Hard Rock location is more than 6,000 square-feet of swank drinking and dining interior, with an additional 3,000-square-foot patio ready to host more than 320 hungry and thirsty Vegas foodies.
This distinctive gastropub will stay true to the soulful, relaxed ambiance of the first location in Scottsdale, Ariz., where Culinary Dropout has already made a name for itself as a day-drinking and late-night destination.
The hip- and rebel-style of Culinary Dropout makes it a the perfect hangout to sip creative libations, savor tasty pub grub and take in live music several times a week.

While booze fans will enjoy a menu that has dedicated two-thirds to beer, wine, and unique cocktails, eaters will relish amped up pub-style appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees, along with a one-of-a-kind antipasti menu showcasing delicious and hard-to-find meats, cheeses and vegetables.
Culinary Dropout’s happy hour features delectable bar snacks like hot and salty house-made pretzels with sultry provolone fondue. Appetizers like chilled oysters get dinner off to an aphrodisiacal start, followed by juicy and mouthwatering shaved prime rib dip served with onion soup. Another cult favorite is the crunchy fried chicken dinner served with fresh buttermilk biscuits and a succulent drizzle of local honey.
