Farmer’s Bottega

Farmer’s Bottega is a beautiful space with its vintage feel, exposed pipes, brick walls, and edison bulbs. As appealing as that may be, the menu is even more enticing. I had trouble deciding if I should come here for brunch or dinner. Brunch won out.

Every good brunch needs some good cocktails and the bacon bloody mary ($8) was a winner. The kombucha mule ($9) on the other hand, I wasn’t a fan of.

The food is beautifully plated, but both benedicts I tried were under seasoned. Sitting atop fried green tomatoes, the blue crab benedict ($15) was in dire need of salt. With the short rib benedict ($14) there were some deep savory flavors from the tender beef, but the execution could have been finessed more. Aside from needing more salt, the meat was barely warm. The highlight of the dish were the garlic parmesan potatoes. If you’re looking for something sweeter, the bonfire pancakes ($10) were amazing. What’s not to like about fluffy pancakes smothered with toasted marshmallows, chocolate sauce, and graham cracker crumbles.

Surprisingly, the place is kid-friendly. They have a separate kid’s menu for little ones making this a worthy destination for any adults who crave good food but also have to satisfy the appetites of their kids. I’m a fan of their concept and their use of seasonal ingredients, but they’ll need to work on fine tuning the execution of dishes to make this place shine.

All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
