This place is pretty average. I tried the item that everyone gushes about, the tropical special with Hawaiian bread french toast, and I thought it was just ok. Don’t get me wrong, the french toast was tasty but it wasn’t so good that I thought about going back the next day.
The portions are huge. 2 large pieces of french toast come on one plate, with the other items of the Tropical Special on a second — 2 eggs (decent), 2 strips of bacon (perfectly crispy), and hash browns (the exterior was a crunchy but the inside was a mushy mess).
On a Sunday morning we only had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table inside. The waitress was personable and checked back with us a few times, which was nice. But it took a while to get the food. I realize the weekends are probably their busiest times, but waiting 30+ minutes for what we ordered (2 orders of the Tropical Special and an order of oatmeal) seems a little excessive.
