Trying to find good food at affordable prices is tough in wine country. Sure, there are plenty of spots to have an amazing, gastronomic experience, but they usually come at a hefty price. After hitting up a couple wineries we looked around and found Rutherford Grill. Even during the week, expect a wait if you visit during prime lunch hours. But, don’t let that discourage you from dining here. If you have kids, it’s worth a stop because they have a couple kid-friendly options. More importantly, the rest of the food will satisfy any adult.

The butternut and white cheddar enchilada ($18) was a delicious vegetarian option that satisfied this carnivore and the cucumber salad with feta, red onions, and olives was a perfect compliment. My wife declared her veggie burger ($15) one of the best she’s ever had. Our kid’s dish was a half order of their rotisserie chicken with a side of fries. Chicken dishes are rarely impressive, but theirs had a wonderfully crispy and well-seasoned skin and the meat was succulent and tender. Even if you don’t think chicken dishes are worth getting, you may want to reconsider when dining here. It’s that good.

I like that this place is kid-friendly. It’s so tough finding one that has good food. The only negative is that the service could have been better. Not only did it take forever to order when we were finally seated, the food took forever, and our waitress was rarely around to check in on us or refill drinks.
