Located off of Durango Rd in Spring Valley, this Mediterranean restaurant first began as a fast-casual, order-at-the-counter restaurant. Somewhere along the line that changed to the more upscale format that currently is in place. The interior is a large, open space with plenty of tables and booths surrounding brightly lit trees that serve as the focal point of the room. It’s an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that makes for a relaxed meal.

As for the food, the ground chicken was the best thing I tried. There was plenty of delicious flavors with each bite. Unfortunately, the boneless chunks of chicken that accompanied it in the chicken soltani ($17.99) dish weren’t as good. The beef kabob ($16.99) looked better than it tasted due to a lack of seasoning and its course texture.

On the plus side, both entrees came with some amazingly fluffy and delicious Basmati rice. Portion sizes were huge, with each entree big enough for two people. At the moderately high prices they charge, it would have been best for us to split one of them.

The hummus ($4.99) was decent, the shirazi salad ($4.99) was refreshingly light and acidic and the Mast o khiar (yogurt and cucumber dip, $4.99) was too heavy on the dill.

It was a solid experience all around with the exception of a couple dishes, but the price might prohibit my return since there are several other Mediterranean and Persian restaurants in the area that are less expensive.
