Having seen the positive reviews of this Napoli-style Italian chain that’s been around for nearly 20 years, I had to stop by. Even on a Monday night it was busy and they could only fit us in with a 5pm reservation. It’s a small place on Beachwalk in the always popular and touristy Waikiki, so plan ahead if you want to dine here.
The scallop appetizer was excellent with its thinly sliced scallops, meticulously placed sea asparagus, and fresh and unique flavors from the tobiko and champagne dressing. Portion size was no issue with the crab and zucchini pasta. A large mound of perfectly cooked noodles filled a shallow bowl with a generous amount of creamy sauce covering everything. The richness of flavors continued with the uni pasta. The uni added a slightly salty taste that complimented the creaminess of the sauce producing bold flavors that had my taste buds begging for more. To end the meal was a delicious house made tiramisu with subtle notes of alcohol under the prominent espresso flavor.
Service was rather quick and efficient, making for shorter meal than expected. Arancino is a solid place to eat if you’re in the mood for modern Italian American dishes with some hints of Asian influences.
