One of the original food trucks to make it famous, Giovanni’s Shrimp truck on the North Shore looks like it’s a stationary outpost these days. I first stopped here seven years ago and came back recently to see if my initials were still on the back of the truck. They weren’t. It looks like they paint over the truck every so often to give customers a spot to scribble.
The wife and I each got a half plate of the shrimp scampi — 6 shrimp and one scoop of rice. Heavy on the butter and garlic, the flavors were good, just make sure you grab plenty of napkins. The best items, however, were the flavored corn, with the Baja slightly superior to the original.
Due to its popularity expect long lines and long wait times. There are restrooms nearby along with a covered patio with plenty of tables and seats.
