Located in the newly renovated Big Bear Lake Village, Teddy Bear restaurant is a rustic diner serving classic American fare in an intimate space that was packed during our visit. The adjoining room where we dined for breakfast felt like a large storage closet, with an outdoor dining space just steps away.
The execution of the bacon avocado omelette ($8.89) was excellent. Flawless eggs were mixed with chunks of bacon and avocado, with a side of sugary sweet brown sugar glazed bacon. It was almost like eating candy. Adding more sweetness to our meal was the cinnamon cornbread — a sizable chunk of bread more than an inch high. The kid enjoyed a chocolate chip pancake ($4.49). Large with whipped cream forming a smiley face, it was filled with chocolate and large enough for two or three kids.
The place is cash only. They have an ATM in their foyer if needed.
