Another food truck at a recent gathering at Top Shelf, I had heard of the Cookie Bar and was anxious too give them a shot. But, “disappointing” was how I felt afterward. I don’t know if it was because the cookies weren’t all that fresh, probably recently refrigerated, but the two I tried were cold and hard. The Oreo kitchen sink ($5) more so. There was too much going on. “Less is more” would be a good adage for them to follow because the cookie part of it was dry and course, the brownie was crumbly and the Oreo was just a typical oreo. The pina colada cookie ($4) wasn’t much better. Cold and dry. The filling felt gritty and too sugary. They should concentrate on refining their cookies with less ingredients instead of throwing a million things into one, hoping to make it great. Because their cookies aren’t.
