The Thirsty Cougar is located in Cozumel (the first stop on our cruise) on the main street leading to and from the ship. It’s a tourist trap for sure but we gave it a shot anyway. We took a chance and tried a margarita on the rocks, and luckily didn’t get sick. This small restaurant doesn’t try to be authentic. They’re just in business to satisfy tourists’ drinking needs. Although, if margaritas are supposed to be their specialty, they’re failing. The “infamous lime cougarita” was too salty and sour.
As for the food, the chicken tacos were decent. Soft tortillas, diced chicken, manchego cheese. Not bad but I’ve definitely had better tacos. The garlic shrimp was pretty good.
